Poetry Workshop, Plant Walk and Tea Ceremony
We will begin the afternoon with Mary Ellen Lough leading us through a ritual of Poetic Medicine. Using the body and the garden as oracle and guide, we will tune into the senses as we read, write, and respond to poetry of attentiveness and deep listening. “The poetry of earth is never dead,” wrote John Keats. We will tap into earth, stillness, and the wildness that poetry invites us into. All writing levels welcome. Learn more about Mary Ellen’s approach to poetry at www.maryellenlough.com
After nibbling on vegan bliss balls in the garden, Mary Plantwalker will weave in the stories and tastes of our native, naturalized and cultivated plant allies in a slow, gentle plant walk. Then we will culminate the gathering with an Appalachian Tea Ceremony. Inspired by ancient tea traditions and the power of plants to transform, this is a time for the Sacred Pause, inside of an overstimulating, hectic world, to reconnect with what really matters and settle into our own sense of place.
Event is $75. Pre-register here. Limit of 10 participants.
